VO TRAINING

LOOKING FOR NEW HORIZONS AS A WORKING ACTOR?

VOICE OVER TRAINING IN TV PROMO AND MOVIE TRAILERS can help expand your acting career and so many aspects of your professional and personal life. Here, you'll learn to understand the different environments, values, and behavior in the voice over community and what is appropriate to compete in them. This is where voice over training becomes critical to your personal success.

A voice actor needs to feel confident, committed, and believable. You'll learn to be a solid storyteller by bringing to life the writer/producer's story and by creating an intimate connection between yourself and your audience. You must become a person audiences listen to, not just a voice that they hear.

What distinguishes you from the rest of the heard? Quite simply it is "you being you" in this environment. This takes time, training, and daily practice to find who you are in the voice over world.

BROADCAST PROMOTION

BROADCAST PROMOTION is the advertising of a television show's content.

Your job as the voice over actor in a TV Promo is to entice viewers to watch your client's programming.

You will need to be a confident storyteller while reacting and responding to the character's interaction in the spot's playback (a.k.a "mix-minus"). To master this area you must learn the techniques of timing, breaking down the script and storytelling.

Please contact me for more information about classes, and seminars.

TRAILERS

MOVIE TRAILERS are point of sale commercials for the movies. Millions of dollars are at stake when a trailer hits the screen. Its success is dependent upon a strong advertising campaign to bring the audience into the theater, and the movie trailer is the ultimate sales tool.

The trailer read is very stylized storytelling, so it's critical for you, the voice actor, to have strong visualization skills, and a full understanding of the nuance in the copy. It truly is an art form in the hands of a team of creative professionals. You must learn to share their story without getting in the way.

If you have a passion for movie trailers and you want to learn more please contact me.

If you are looking for a mic and software Avid Voice Studio gives you a USB mic, and ProTools recording software for under a hundred dollars. So, it really doesn't cost you a great deal to get yourself going. There are also are other choices of software and mics that can start you off in your voice over experience.

Once we schedule a session, I will send you the playback (mix minus) and your scripts prior your session. Now that you have all the tools, let's begin.

VO DEMOS

Your voice-over demo is your calling card. Both for agents and clients. Often, it's the first and last thing a client hears before deciding to hire you.

ARE YOU READY?
Maybe you are, and maybe you're not. You'll need an honest assessment of your strengths and weaknesses before you spend your money on a demo. What are your goals? What are you trying to accomplish? Are you trying to get an agent, or do you want to give your agent a better tool to sell you? Where is today's market? Where do your fit?

INITIAL CONSULTATION
We will find out who you are. You will identify your best side, and decide how best to market yourself. You'll learn what kinds of style work best for you, and what kinds of shows fit your talents.

CUSTOM MADE CONTENT
We write and produce your demo specifically for you ‹ to show off your signature styles, your unique personality, and your talents. We tailor your best assets to match the needs of the promo market.

DEMO REHEARSAL
Getting ready to record your demo usually takes about 30 minutes. We will give you scripts and go over them with you. We'll do sound tests and make adjustments to give your session the best possible sound quality matched to your voice.

RECORDING & MIX
Your session includes a full professional mix with sound effects, music and transitions. A perfect end result takes a full two to three weeks. We do not skimp!

FINAL MIX
We will review your demo with your agent or manager to make sure you've gotten exactly what you need. If a change in order of spots, or something additional in the mix will make it the best selling tool ever, then that's what we'll do.
